by JimmyPage inthis thread was inspired by my listening to the band mastodon lately.
i just find their drummer brann dailor amazing.

Do you still buy album CDs anymore?
by Leolaia inor do you mainly download?
i have been revamping my '80s music collection this week and resorted to downloading a bunch of music from amazon to upgrade to higher quality mp3s.
i have a ton of cds that i have ripped my music from as well, but i had to fill those holes with stuff i could only get from online stores.

Exactly, pubsinger,My albums have pride of place in my music room. There's no decent artwork on a download, mybe sometimes a tiny jpeg that you can hardly see. My albums will be left to my son when I shuffle, and as he likes a lot of the stuff I do I know he will keep them.
Got a Deep purple 'Machine Head' album coming today off e bay,my copy is really beyond repair now. I can gaze upon the cover, study the pictures inside, read the lyric sheet, see the band, can't do that with a download.

You can't beat having something physical in your hands,I feel as if it's money well spent. I still buy vinyl,CD's and ,Shock ,horror, cassettes!!!!! I have downloaded some stuff but only to see if I like it enough to go buy the album.
I have a USB turntable,it is really good. You can put the music on your computor then transfer it to CD and even get rid of any bumps or scratches that the record may have picked up along its lifetime.
I love rooting through old record stalls, charity shops etc searching for interesting records to buy.............and e bay..............well they saw me coming!!!!

The Hobby of Collecting
by Yizuman inmy mom and i used to collect all sorts of glass, jars, and the nick knacks made from glass.. we had those bear types of grape jelly jars.
other animals too.. we also had standard grape jars that had patterns on them, a lot from like hanna barbara cartoon shows.
scooby-do for one, with the mystery mobile and the gang.

JW urban legends
by kurtbethel ini scraped these off of a jw message group, and they are too over the top to not pass along.
it is interesting to see that jws pass along these yarns just as their worldly friends do.
most of them have that vague "friend of a friend" quality that urban legends are well know for having.
